Dan Paton wrote a detailed interview/feature piece for London Jazz News, which covers the choice of repertoire on the album, and what it’s like to play with Jorge Rossy and Tom Farmer.
Adrian Pallant wrote a review of the album, also for London Jazz News, calling it “an intimate, sun-warmed amble through the saxophonist’s favourite tunes… again it’s Braysher’s improvisatory flair which shines”.
Simon Adams with a four-star review in Jazz Journal: “They’re a world-class rhythm section and the three together work magic. Braysher himself constantly surprises… Whatever he plays, he thinks about carefully, making each solo an excursion of great interest, never overloading sentiment or false emotion but always staying true to the song.”
Stephen Godsall for the Belgian site Jazz Halo: “The trio format works brilliantly here; the players have built a solid understanding which enables grooves which are both skin-tight and teasingly loose. All the rhythms have a propulsive energy”
Jazzwise makes “One Note Samba” its Video of the Day. There’s also a four-star review of the album in this month’s print edition.
